Rotary was founded by attorney Paul Harris in 1905 to create a professional group with a friendly, small-town spirit. The Logan Rotary Club was established in 1920 with assistance from the Lancaster Rotary Club. Early meetings were held at the Ambrose Hotel, then later at Blosser’s restaurant. Notable members included Dr. Albert Leonard, Bob Sparnon, Earl Lowe, and Jim Bob King. Jim Bob and Dr. Jack Rauch had perfect attendance for many years. Judge Harley Meyer served as secretary and treasurer for nearly 50 years, receiving a Paul Harris Fellowship from the club. The club has met at various locations over the years, including the Senior Citizens Center, where the meeting time changed to noon, and now at Lee’s Party Haus.
