Award Categories

Business of the Year Award
This award recognizes a business that has demonstrated exceptional success, leadership, and commitment to the Hocking Hills region. The recipient should be a standout organization that not only excels in its industry but also actively contributes to the local economy and community well-being.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a current Hocking Hills Chamber of Commerce member in good standing.

  • Exhibits innovative and creativity in business operations, including unique marketing strategies and promotions that enhance visibility and customer engagement.

  • Maintains a strong reputation for ethical business practices, integrity, and a positive workplace culture that values employees and customers.

  • Actively participates in community initiatives, partnerships, and charitable efforts that make a meaningful impact in the Hocking Hills.

  • Demonstrates steady growth, adaptability, and resilience, setting an example of business excellence for others in the region.

First Responder of the Year Award
This award honors an outstanding first responder who has demonstrated exceptional service, dedication, and commitment to the safety and well-being of the Hocking Hills community. It recognizes individuals in law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency medical services (EMS), or other emergency response roles who go above and beyond the call of duty.


Eligibility & Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a current first responder serving in Hocking County or the surrounding area.

  • Has shown extraordinary courage, leadership, and professionalism in their role.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to public safety, community engagement, and service beyond their normal duties.

  • Has made a significant impact through heroic actions, life-saving measures, or outstanding service in the past year.

  • Nominations should be submitted by fellow first responders, community members, or Chamber members.

  • This award serves to highlight the invaluable contributions of first responders who work tirelessly to protect and serve our community.

Barton A. Holl Citizenship Award
This award honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of service to the Hocking Hills community. Established in 1978, the award is named in memory of Barton A. Holl, who played a vital role in forming the Logan-Hocking Chamber of Commerce (now Hocking Hills Chamber of Commerce). He also founded the Logan Holl Foundation and was an instrumental founding father in the creation of Hocking Valley Community Hospital.


Eligibility & Selection Criteria:

  • Must have a long-standing history of civic engagement and community service.

  • Has made a significant impact on local organizations, initiatives, or projects.

  • Embodies the values of leadership, generosity, and dedication to the Hocking Hills.

  • The recipient does not have to be a Chamber member but should have made a substantial contribution to the local community.

We will only contact the nominee if and when they are selected as an award winner.
